Charlene - I just wanted to send you a couple pics of Ko Ko. I had a "meet Ko Ko" open house yesterday. He got so much attention that he was tuckered out before it was even halfway over. Nobody could believe how huge he is. I started obedience training last week, but the first class was without the pups. So we had homework to do, and he is picking things up so fast. I taught him "sit" in one sitting. I'm going to work on "down" tonight, as in, lying down. That's supposed to a little more difficult. I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving. I'll keep you updated on Ko Ko.

Hi Ladies,

I haven't written to let you know how my puppy "Rumor" (male #1 from the last litter) has been doing. So here it is.

He has adjusted to our family very well. From the first day that he arrived you would think that he has always been here.

When our kids walk their 4-H animals he runs right along with them like he is keeping them in check. He is adjusting to our hot summers, although he thinks he needs to be inside all of the time.

He gets along very well with our old lab "Yogi". I think he has kind of brought some youth back to Yogi. They actually play together a lot. Yogi has arthritis in his front elbow area. So some times he is slow moving. Although he thinks he can still chase squirrels.

Anyways I absolutely love Rumor. He is beautiful and he has fit in quite well. He already shows his protective Akita side when strangers approach the house. He lets them know he is there and does not know who they are. I love that about Akitas. They have always been a wonderful family dog for us and have always provided the type of protection that we need living far out in the country without being too aggressive.

Thank you so much for raising such beautiful and healthy puppies. Keep up the good work.

we are grinning and bearing it as he grows. 43.5 lbs at last count and he is the skinniest thing you've ever seen! eats all he can to keep up with it all. He is beautiful and happy and healthy and doing SUPER!

we are thinking he may top out around 125 lbs or so. 25% bigger than our last boy!

This is Bear and I at a local park on 12/9/06, getting a picture with Santa and friends.

Just wanted you to know this is one smart dog. Within 48 hours he was responding to his name and letting me walk "with him" on a leash. He has a great personality and everyone loves him. Toilet training is coming along well

I was surprised at his size. I had purchase a collar and leash prior to his arrival but had to return them for a larger size. My female Akita, Socks, that passed in January 05 was 22 lbs. at 8 weeks. Bear was around 30 lbs. on arrival and just about gave the kid at the airport a hernia. The kid thought Bear was a raacoon.

I also sending another picture along of my grandson with him.

Johnny just arrived home with Kiki and she is ADORABLE! She's wasted no time exploring the house and meeting the cats. She's been spunking around since the moment she came in the door. She's about to get a bath, as evidentally the flight caused her to get a little soiled and stinky. We'll keep you all posted as she grows up. You all are great, thanks for everything!

Hey Tammy, Charlene and Carol!! Mr. Sampson (puppy #21), is adjusting just fine here in Virginia!! He loves chasing our two kitties and pulling down my 5 year old's pants!!! I am working on trying to get a picture of that! :0) We all love him very much and thank you so much for everything. I see there is a new litter on the way, wish I had room for more.........

I thought I’d give you an update on our boy Sumo. We are SO in love with him! He’s almost 20 weeks old now, and he is weighing in at just over 40 lbs.! He’s the easiest dog I’ve ever house trained and he already knows “sit”, “down”, “stay” and “shake”. Everywhere we go, Sumo causes a spectacle because he is SO handsome! People literally stop what they are doing to check him out. He even gets along with our cat believe it or not! Thank you again for everything, we are so grateful and happy to have him.

UPDATE 2-28-2008

Hi there- just wanted to give you a quick update on Sumo. He’s a BIG guy! His 1^st birthday is next month, he’s almost 85lbs. He’s so well mannered and happy. We are just in LOVE with him…we couldn’t imagine life without him. I’ve attached a few pictures for you to see. We’re thinking in about a year we might get him a sister! J

I have lots of pictures :-) These are probably the most photographed puppies in history, but they love it - their tails just wag like crazy when they see one. I sent some, including the one that was used for their big TV appearance as I thought you might want to put it on your website - let me know if you need me to resend. I'll continue to send pictures as they grow; I thought it would be fun to do a "Our First Year by Cary and Blu" section in my scrapbooks to show how they've grown, the things they've learned, etc. They were weighed in June and Blu was already over 60 lbs., and Cary has consistently been just 1-2 pounds below him.

They are both doing great! They've learned all their commands, and now they practice together. This has led to the cutest thing - sometimes someone will "lay down" faster than his brother, or someone moves - something so both are not laying down, sitting, etc. The puppy who is still laying down when his brother is being retold will take a front paw and thump it down to say "look, I am already doing that - look how good I am!" Even when I say "Blu lay down", Cary will still thump. It's just adorable. Of course I think everything they do is :-)

The brothers continue to get along very well also - this morning they were playing in the lawn sprinkler heads and taking turns chasing each other around the yard. These are definitely some happy puppies. They even still share a food bowl. And yes, the boys in the neighborhood still come over to play - they either come knocking on the front door "can we go in the backyard and play with Cary and Blu?", or they stop and pet them on their way to the retention pond when they're going fishing. Not just Scott and Kyle - all their friends in the neighborhood as well - C&B are very popular. They are both very social and play very well with other dogs too thus far. Any time we're going through the garage they stop by the Jeep and wag a bunch hoping they are going somewhere! We go to the parks a lot, plus we'll go to Petropolis and get doggie ice cream - Bacon & Cheddar is their favorite flavor. All in all you could not ask for two better puppies - both in how beautiful they are and their wonderful temperaments - I definitely made the right choice getting puppies from you :-)

I named my puppy Cujo. I thought he kind of looked like that dog in the movie. Anyway he is doing fine. He seems very easy to house train and is very friendly towards other people and animals. He loves to ride in my truck with me. I'll send you a few pics. Some of my friends at work wanted to see him and we went by my office. Thanks, James

Hi Tammy, Charlene and Karol - - These pictures are long overdue to you, but we have a few snow shots to add. Alex (Alexis Carrington only when she is being stubborn) is doing great. We just love her!! She loves to go for walks in nice weather and learned that word in one day! We cannot open the drawer with the walking leash without her going crazy. She especially loves walking when the grade school down the street from us is letting out and she is great with the kids. Alex also has a great time with her step-brother, Keys (Keystone). Keys is a 3-year old English Setter who hunts, but is a lovable goofball in the house. They are good buddies and play all the time. One of their favorite things to do is play chase - - yes, they tag up for who is it - - and they also love to play tug-of-war any place, especially on the basement steps. She is very protective of me and has a terrific warning bark, but is also one of the sweetest dogs I have ever had. Thanks again, Ann

Hi Tammy!
I thought I would let you know how Phantom is doing. Phantom is such a big boy. At 8 months he is weighing 85 lbs. He is so sweet and cuddly. He is a little stubborn but obedience training is helping with that. Phantom loves the snow. He was a little confused at first but once he started eating it he was fine. Thanks for allowing him to be apart of our family.

Hey! I'm sending an update on Koda Bear, the Akita sired by Kanokie and Marika. He is 7 months old now and at his 6 month vet visit he weighed in at 86.8 lbs!! He's a BIG boy! When we brought him home the other animals were quite intimidated by him but once they found out he was just a big playful lug they really warmed up to him. He is SO good with our 20 month old twin boys. They love to snuggle up to him and sometimes hold his tail while he gives them a ride across the wood floor. Everyone loves this handsome dog and we just wanted to give you an update. Thanks for doing what you do!

I am enjoying my new home in Texas. I am a good boy and have not bothered the Christmas Tree one time. Me and Shiloh both have stockings hanging on the mantle and we can't wait to see what Santa brings us. My older friend Shiloh gave us all a scare 10 days ago when his stomach flipped. He had to have emergency surgery, but he is back home and recovering wonderfully. I was a good friend and knew he didn't feel well. I didn't bother him one bit... and just layed by his side to keep him company. We played for the first time a couple of days ago and things are back to normal!! My new mom and dad love cuddling with me and playing with me!!!
